to view data in a PIE-file and carry out "Basic-Surveillance" analysis calculations
The "PIE Reader" application is used to open and view the data stored in a PIE-file (which is usually a file-name ending in ".pie"). A PIE-file is used to store everything for the analysis of a well i.e. multiple sets of analysis-data, multiple sets of raw "gauge-data" measurements, all analysis results, and saved analysis plots. This data can be viewed in the PIE Reader, and the various displays can be copied from PIE and pasted into another application using the Windows clipboard. There is also an option under the "File" menu that will export all the data in a PIE-file to an "XML" spread-sheet format that can be read by EXCEL®.
In addition, the "PIE Reader" can also be used to carry out "Basic Surveillance" analysis work using the "Derivative" and "Superposition" plots, along with a wide range of other analysis plots. This "Basic Surveillance" capability includes options to compare analysis-plots for different flow-periods (plot overlays), place straight-lines on the analysis plots to obtain estimates for the permeability, skin, extrapolated pressure, hydraulic-fracture length. More information about "Basic Surveillance" analysis is shown here.
If you want to use the "PIE Reader" application, please read the following terms, then click on the "I Accept" button below to download a Windows Installer "MSI" file for the application. After saving this file to your computer, double-click on it to start the installation process and follow the instructions. No serial-number is needed.
